Wedding {Enchanted Garden}

If a wedding could be summed up in one word, Ariel and Adam’s wedding would be called… Enchanted...

Their special day, September 2, 2017, took place in the very same spot Adam proposed just nine months earlier, the York Room of the Hawksworth Restaurant in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, overlooking the Vancouver Art Gallery, this space offered one of the city’s most historic and exceptional private dining experiences. With elegant chandeliers, heritage features and a 1920’s inspiration, it was the perfect intimate space to host their loved ones and share their vows.

Being the owner and lead event planner of Wonderstruck Events, Ariel knew exactly what was important to make her and Adam’s day magical. With the help of their dear friend from Fleur De Lis Events on the day, the couple transformed the space into a lush garden filled with timeless luxury and elegant warmth.

Early the morning of her wedding day, as the Love Team completed the finishing touches on her soft natural makeup, Ariel soaked up the precious moments with her maid-of-honor who is also her sister, Aurora. Aurora who wore a floor length fitted black gown, helped Ariel into her magnificent lace, long sleeved, a-line tulle, Rosa Clara gown from Blush Bridal. Ariel then slipped into her gold studded Valentino heels and adorned a pair of Minichiello drop diamond earrings. A perfectly complementary long tulle veil from Blush Bridal completed the look, along with the bouquet of white and cream roses. Meanwhile, the groom Adam, along with his best man, dressed in their finest for the big day. An Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo with a custom monogram from Harry Rosen. Adam completed his ensemble with Burberry cufflinks and Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, also from Harry Rosen, and made his way to meet his bride for the first look before ceremony. And who couldn’t resist a few candid shots of their darling feline friends Rubix and Rosy, dressed for the occasion in tiny bow ties. Wedding + Pets = Puuurfection!!!

Placed anxiously at the bottom of the stairwell, stood Adam, awaiting his bride who was slowly making her way towards him, until she was close enough to reach forward and gently tap her groom to be. As he turned around to witness his bride, his breath was stolen and replaced by overwhelming tears of joy. His heart so full and so proud to call Ariel his wife in just a short time. Brushing away the tears the couple shared a sweet kiss and spent a moment together, admiring one another in perfect bliss. Next the couple traveled outdoors to capture some beautiful natural light portraits, before making their way back to take a few portraits together with their best man and maid-of-honor. With guests arriving, the couple then took a few moments to rest before the ceremony began.

Lining either side of a white aisle runner, sat perfectly placed gold and white Louis chairs. At the head of the aisle stood lavishly decorated arrangements filled with cream roses, lisianthus and greenery designed by Sunflower Florist, balanced upon gold vases and clear pillars in front of romantic white draping designed by éclat decor. As soft harmony’s played by the harpist and cello in the background, guests began to take their seats in anticipation. Then the groom emerged down the aisle, with his mother by his side, followed by the best man and maid-of-honor. Guests then stood, as Ariel, accompanied by her father, began down the aisle. With a beautiful bouquet of white and cream roses, tied with a classic ivory satin ribbon, she smiled at her guests as she passed. Vows written to one another made the ceremony personal and romantic, and the guests all cheered as they were announced husband and wife. Families gathered to take photos with the newlyweds in front of the gorgeous ceremony backdrop, then Ariel snuck away to change into her stunning evening attire, before entering the reception arm in arm with her now Husband!

For the reception, the York Room was transformed into a glamorous whimsical tablescape with two harvest tables draped in ivory satin linens and accompanied by gold and white Louis chairs. Upon the tables sat gold candelabras with white tapered candles, over sized arrangements of white roses and greenery, and gold leaf charger plates that held custom monogrammed menus designed by Maurelle calligraphy. Known for having the best food in Vancouver, the four course meal was exceptional and left guests very pleased. The four-tiered white and gold wedding cake was topped with beautiful white sugar roses and gold leaves by A. Elizabeth. The couple cut and enjoyed the confection just before they took their first dance, accompanied by live vocals and guitar. Guests were treated to a unique wedding favor of black and white portraits printed by the Collective You. Guests used a second printed copy of their portrait, to write out well-wishes for the couple, for their happiness and for a long and loving marriage.
